Judaism
Alpha Epsilon Pi is the only nationally Jewish fraternity. While many other historically Jewish fraternities have abandoned this aspect of their identities, AEPi has chosen to embrace it. Our ultimate mission is to train Jewish leaders, and in pursuit of this goal we involve ourselves extensively in the local and global Jewish communities.
One of the primary ways that our chapter contributes to the greater Jewish community is through philanthropy. A large portion of the money raised for philanthropic purposes by AEPi chapters all around North America goes to benefit Jewish causes like the Shaare Zedek hospital in Jerusalem or the Chai Lifeline, which provides services for families with children who have cancer.
In addition to our philanthropic efforts we make our mark on the local Jewish community through leadership and unique events. At our house we hold Passover Seders and light Chanukah candles. On campus we are extensively involved with Berkeley Hillel and the Chabad Jewish Student Center.
Most importantly, everyone is allowed to practice as they wish and choose which activities they wish to participate in. There is a place for all Jewish students here, whether secular or orthodox.
